For more than 25 years, the sea has been at the heart of my professional life.
I have gained experience in international shipping, shipping agency services, logistics, port operations, and vessel assistance. Today, I put this experience to work for recreational boaters and owners of sailboats, yachts, and motorboats.

A maritime professional—first and foremost, a human being

At Cosmo Marine, you’re not dealing with an anonymous platform or just a website. You’re dealing with a real person who’s available and knows the realities of the sea, ports, and boats.

Entrusting your boat to someone else, organizing a stopover, preparing for a boat delivery, or overseeing repairs remotely all require trust. Behind Cosmo Marine is a sailor, a logistics expert, and a single point of contact who will be there for you from start to finish.

25 years of experience in the shipping agency business

Before founding Cosmo Marine, I spent more than two decades working in international shipping and logistics. I have worked with shipowners, shipping lines, captains, ports, freight forwarders, carriers, and specialized service providers around the world.

Throughout my career, I have coordinated port calls for commercial vessels, handled customs formalities, supervised multimodal transport operations, managed ship spare parts delivery missions, coordinated maritime inspections for insurers (AIG), and assisted captains with all matters related to their port calls.

This experience taught me that a shipping agent does more than just handle paperwork: he or she solves problems, coordinates dozens of stakeholders, and becomes the captain’s trusted partner.

A true solo sailing experience

I also own a Hallberg-Rassy Rasmus 35, on which I have sailed several thousand nautical miles solo between the Netherlands, the North Sea, the English Channel, the Atlantic, the coasts of Portugal and Spain, and the Mediterranean.

Sailing solo requires meticulous preparation, complete technical self-sufficiency, constant analysis of the weather, and the ability to make the right decisions when no one else can do so for you. This experience is now at the heart of how I work.

I understand the concerns of boaters because I experience them myself: preparing for a crossing, finding a berth, arranging for repairs, waiting for a replacement part, or having to manage a boat from a distance.

Why did you start Cosmo Marine?

I've often wondered why commercial ships have a dedicated shipping agent at every port of call, while recreational boaters generally have to organize everything themselves.

It was this line of thinking that led to the creation of Cosmo Marine. My goal is to offer owners of sailboats, yachts, and motorboats the same level of support that commercial vessels receive.
