In the merchant marine, when a ship arrives in port, it is never alone. A shipping agent handles all the logistics of its port call. The agent coordinates relations with port authorities, customs, terminals, repairs, provisioning, deliveries, administrative formalities, and crew changes, and responds to all requests from the captain and crew.

His role goes far beyond administrative tasks. He arranges transportation to the airport, accompanies a crew member to a doctor or dentist, books a hotel, arranges for the delivery of an urgent mechanical part, or finds a technician who can respond quickly so that the ship can set sail again under the best possible conditions.

Why did you start Cosmo Marine?

After more than twenty-five years in international shipping and shipping agency services, one thing became clear: recreational boaters face exactly the same challenges as commercial vessels, but often have to resolve them on their own.

Finding a shipyard, having a spare part delivered, arranging a repair, preparing the boat for a crossing, receiving a package, finding transportation, a pharmacy, a doctor, a tradesperson, or simply someone you can trust when you’re away from your boat… We’ve experienced all of these situations as sailors and as maritime professionals.

Are you stopping over in Occitanie? We’re getting ready for your arrival. We can receive your packages before you arrive, source replacement parts, coordinate repairs, arrange technical service calls, meet you at the train station or airport, drive you to your boat, or arrange your return trip after your vacation.

Have you found a used autopilot, a dinghy, a life raft, or an outboard motor that you can’t transport? We’ll take delivery of your purchase, store it temporarily, and deliver it directly on board or to the shipyard.

Would you like to order groceries, a new sail, sailing gear, electronics, or safety equipment before you arrive? Have them delivered to us. Everything will be ready on board when you step onto your boat.

Do you need to have your boat out of service for several weeks? We’ll oversee the work, stay in touch with the contractors, monitor progress, and keep you informed remotely. You’ll stay in control without having to travel hundreds of kilometers.
